Air to Air
Air to air photography is by far the most enjoyable aspect to my portfolio however it can also prove the most challenging;
Having been fortunate enough to experience the thrills of air to air flying, Andy is one of only a few photographers in the UK specializing in air-to-air photography. Much of his work has been published in the aviation press both in the UK and abroad. Working with numerous private collectors, as well as many of the world's major air arms, including the Royal Air Force, Fleet Air Arm, USAFE, The Royal Danish Air Force Force, and the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team - The Red Arrows.
With experience and extensive understandings of compiling the perfect air to air image, I have a varied collection of air to air images from air to air refuelling sorties to aerobatic formation flying.

At Sea
Having joined HMS Illustrious in the med during late 2005, I was fortunate enough to spend time onboard as the last operational deployment of Fleet Air Arm Sea Harriers from 801 Naval Air Squadron took place as they completed the types' swansong.
At the same time 814 Naval Air Squadron were conducting their first operational deployment onboard an aircraft carrier with the EH101 Merlin.
I was also privledged to spend time with Lynx crews of 815NAS operating on our Escort ship HMS Exeter and the pingers of 849 A Flt 'The Aardvarks' working round the clock with Seaking ASac cabs.
You can view my report of the trip in the REPORTS section

Air-Base Visits
I infrequently visit air-bases these days after discovering low level photography in 2005. I do however make exceptions especially during large scale exercises.
With RAF Leuchars in close proximity and my 'second home' in Lossiemouth a stone throw away from the UK's busiest base.
If anything, it proves a relaxing way to pass the time.

Civilian and Airliners
Not my preffered genre of aviation photography but working in aviation, I have access to locations that lend itself to alternative and sometimes adventageous views. Saying that, plenty of colours and liveries are generally on offer to provide some attraction. and will brighten up any aviation photographers portfolio.
From corporate biz jets to cargo operators, you can see my civilian airliner offerings here!
LOW LEVEL FLYING
Having been photographing aircraft now for twenty years, I have spent the last six years staking out locations within the United Kingdom Low Fly System (UKLFS). Within the UK, there are also three designated Operational Low Fly (OLF) areas. Such areas permit operational low flying sorties to take place down to 100ft. One of these such areas is located in the Scottish Borders, which is where I spend the majority of my time.
With the RAF using the Scottish Borders and Northumberland more than any other part of the United Kingdom, Scotland really is the playground for the military.
The highlands of Scotland apart from offering stunning scenery and backdrops offers some unique and versatile flying for the armed forces and also tends to attract ample amount's of fast jet and rotary low level flying operations.
